C.A.R.E. Week 2014
Nu Chapter hosted their annual C.A.R.E. (Cancer Awareness: a Real Effort) Week during the last two weeks of April at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. The events of this week were focused around raising donations for and educating the community on our philanthropy - cancer awareness. C.A.R.E. Week featured several different events including a kick-off rally, a candlelight vigil, a Mr. C.A.R.E. Week pageant, a volleyball tournament and a bake sale.
All proceeds raised this year were donated to Bring Hope Home (http://bringinghopehome.org/), an organization that is dedicated to emotionally and financially supporting local families battling cancer in the Greater Philadelphia Area. They do so by paying bills to ensure that families are able to stay in their homes, with the lights on, heat pumped up, phones working, and food on the table during their hard time.
This year Nu Chapter raised more than $450 to donate. We would like to thank all the organizations, sponsors, and supporters who participated in our C.A.R.E. Week and helped us raise awareness and funds for a great cause! We hope to throw a bigger and better C.A.R.E. Week next year and cannot wait to have everyone's support once again!
Love always,
KPhiG Nu
