C.A.R.E. Week 2015
This past spring, Nu Chapter hosted yet another awe-inspiring C.A.R.E. (Cancer Awareness: A Real Effort) Week at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With the theme of superheroes, sisters channeled their creative talents into planning a thrilling, action-packed agenda for the week with events including a dunk tank, a volleyball tournament, a balloon release, a superhero pageant, and a sundae social.
All proceeds were donated to Bite Me Cancer, a nonprofit foundation established by thyroid cancer survivor Nikki Ferraro. Through this organization, Nikki and her fellow board members raise funds for research grants on thyroid cancer and they assemble and deliver support bags to teenagers battling the disease in hospitals nationwide.
This year, Nu Colony raised over $550 in donations. We would like to thank each organization, sponsor, and supporter who came out to our events and joined us in raising awareness and funds for this noble cause. This has been our most successful C.A.R.E. Week thus far, and we hope that we can make even more of difference next year.
